Founder & Principal • Since 1997 • 20+ YearsAlastair McClymont proudly calls Dunedin his hometown, even though he’s been based in Auckland since 1997. With a career rooted in immigration law and a background in criminal and civil litigation, Alastair has dedicated himself to becoming a specialist in his field. Since 2001, he has focused his own law practice on humanitarian cases, skilled migrants, family reunifications, work visas, and appeals, all while building a deeply experienced and compassionate team. As a passionate advocate for migrant rights, Alastair draws on his extensive experience to spark meaningful public conversations about the human impact of immigration decisions and to challenge how our immigration policies align with our values. This unwavering commitment to putting people first forms the heart of McClymont & Associates’ mission and values. Beyond his professional life, Alastair’s love for the study of history and philosophy shapes his perspective, while mountain biking, travel, family time, and playful moments with his sea lion neighbours bring him joy and balance.
